The mineral cells tee is plumbed into the hot tubs main filter line, the electronic control system needs to be connected to the hot tubs control system ozone plug which will power the Clear Blue Ionizer. In hot tubs that do not have a continuous running circulation pump the filter cycle for the main pump will need to be set to run a minimum of 4 hours daily. For use in spas up to 2,500 gal / 9,500 L.
Maintenance:
- Testing: Use the included copper test strips to ensure ion levels are between min 0.2 and max 0.6ppm.
- Cell: The mineral cell delivers the minerals to the water and needs to be checked every 6 months. Typical life expectancy of the cell in spas up to 500 gallons (1,900 Litres) is about 2 years. Replacement cells can be purchased separately.
- Shock: With average use you will need to oxidize the water with the included oxidizer about once a week to break down excess organic matter in the water (i.e. sweat, makeup, suntan oils, body oils etc.)
- Sanitizer: A minimum residual of chlorine or bromine should be maintained after the copper test shows the ion levels to be a minimum of 0.2ppm - 0.4ppm.
