Winter at Home

Everyone knows the enjoyment of warming up in the hot tub after a refreshing summer swim in a chilly pool is lovely, however a winter soak can be just as enjoyable! From soothing aching muscles to an enjoyable, relaxing sit in nature, you may be elated to learn the different ways your spa can enhance your winter months.

  

During the winter months, particularly after the year we've had, many of us may suffer from sore and achy muscles and joints. Shovelling the endless snow and trying to stay on our workout regimes can be extremely draining! Enjoying a wonderful dip in your spa can relax you, ease the tension and alleviate some of the discomfort of the cold months.

  

It is suggested by some studies that elevating the body’s core temperature can also have benefits related to health. Relaxing in your backyard oasis can help to reduce stress, improve circulation, and even relieve congestion caused by the sniffles. So spending some quality time in the nice hot bubbly water might be a great way to help your body unwind and destress at the end of the day.

  

Winter is also a great time to to take your New Years resolution into the spa. Instead of heading out to the gym, use the water's resistance and buoyancy to increase your calorie burn as you partake in some light strength training and aerobics. You can also add weights to your workout to help strength and tone, and keep your body swimsuit ready year round.

  

When using your hot tub in winter is important to remember some winter safety tips and tricks:

  • Be careful of ice on steps and around spa, when entering and exiting your spa
  • Keep a towel and robe near by to avoid getting chilled when leaving the spa
  • Remember that during the colder months you are less likely to feel to hot, so set a timer for about 20-30mins in the spa so you don’t overheat
