Clear Water with Enzymes

Clean, clear water is top priority when enjoying a soothing soak in your spa. No one wants to sit in cloudy, smelly water and there are many products that help to keep your spa water safe and worry-free. One additive that is very effective at supporting sanitizer effectiveness and ridding your spa of organic partials are spa enzymes. Described as a complimentary chemical, it’s actually a non-toxic, non-corrosive protein.

Enzymes are an organic catalyst that speed up chemical reactions without chemically changing themselves. With hot tub enzymes they adhere to non-living organic matter in the water such as dirt, dead skin, grease and lotions. By breaking the material into very small molecules, they lessen the demand on your sanitizer and extend the life of your filters.

Once you add the enzyme to your spa water it gets busy breaking down organic material, making it easier for your sanitizer to work and keep the water clean. Since they are not harmful to living organics it won’t try and break down you when you are savouring a nice dip, but they also won’t eliminate bacteria or algae which is why they are not considered a sanitizer. Enzymes are working continuously once added to the water. As they are not changed during the chemical reaction, they are free to repeatedly attack dirt and grime over and over. Unlike sanitizers that are used up during the process of cleaning your water, most hot tubs only a require a small weekly dose to maintain an adequate level of enzyme.

Enzymes are amazingly useful as an odour eliminator, help with scum and water marks, and helping to prevent foam. They are also compatible with chlorine, bromine, ozone and mineral systems and are specifically designed to work in warm water temperatures. These nifty proteins are hypoallergenic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly, and can really help to keep your hot tub water crystal clear and fresh for relaxing times in your spa.
