FrogLog: The Animal Rescue Ramp

When small animals inadvertently fall into the pool, they’ll try to swim towards the edge of the pool to escape. Unfortunately, with the high walls on most pools, it can be very difficult for them to find a way out and they may become stuck in your pool or skimmer basket. With the  FrogLog, these critters have a safe and effective way to exit your swimming pool.

But Can't Fogs Swim?

Without an exit strategy, small animals like frogs, toads and salamanders can eventually get too tired to keep swimming and make their escape. Additionally, their permeable skin allows the chlorine from your pool water to enter their blood stream which can harm and eventually kill small animals if they don’t find a way out of your pool. The FrogLog allows small animals to find a safe exit out of the pool so they can avoid exhaustion and exposure to too much chlorine.

How It Works

Animals that are stuck in the water will naturally swim towards the edge of the pool, where they will find the FrogLog. The small animals will bump into the mesh netting that they then use to easily climb onto the floating platform. From there, the animal climbs up a mesh ramp over the edge of the pool and safely exits.

How to Install

Simply place the floating platform in the pool water and place the weighted pouch on the side of the pool. It’s ideal to place the FrogLog upstream of the flow of water moving toward the skimmer opening, and also ensure that the back edge of the floating platform is snug against the wall. If you have a larger pool, you may need to use multiple FrogLogs (see chart below). When using multiple FrogLogs, ensure they are spaced evenly around the pool.

Pool owners worldwide love using the FrogLog because it saves animals, helps keep your pool and skimmer baskets clear, and reduces the amount of pool maintenance needed. The  FrogLog is now available at Pool and Hot Tub Depot to help rescue critters and keep your pool clear.
